The Sustainable Development Solutions Youth Network in the Amazon is a division
of the SDSN Global targeted at people under 30 years old, seeking to involve the
youth of the Amazon basin’s countries in the 2030 agenda.

Carolina Ramírez

Carolina graduated as a forest engineer from Universidad Nacional Agraria La
Molina (UNALM, Peru) and has a master degree in Forest Tropical Science by
the National Institute for Amazon Research (INPA, Brasil). Carolina has
professional experience in the management of non-wood and wood forest
products, in the establishment and monitoring of permanent forest plots and in
the botanical identification of the main tree species of the Peruvian and
Brazilian amazon forest. She has published academic articles in ecotourism,
tree growth and the drought effect in the amazon forest trees. Currently, she is
responsible for the management of SDSN-Amazon network at Fundação
Amazônia Sustentável.

Macarena Mairata

Macarena has a degree in Social Communications – Journalism by the Martha Falcão University, and is currently studying history at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM). She initiated her professional career writing about social movements, political manifestations and human rights to Free Journalists and Ninja Midia. She wrote academic articles about environmental journalism and the journalistic market. She also has experience with activist journalism, having been a part of NGOs like Greenpeace and Doctors Without Borders. Currently, she is responsible for communication of SDSN-Amazon network at Fundação Amazônia Sustentável.

Beatriz Maia

Beatriz Maia is newly graduated in economics at the State University of
Amazonas, a postgraduate student in environment and sustainable
development and voluntary SDSN. While at the university he realized that the
social sciences attract her and that in the future, besides being a top-level
teacher, I would like to have experience in the third sector. Being at SDSN for
Beatriz is a great experience, because it enables you to know about various

projects and programs that are, or have been, developed in the Amazon, and
always provide new learning in the most diverse areas of knowledge.
